The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition that tests student knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Middle School student teams are comprised of four students, one alternative, and a coach. These teams face off in a fast-paced questions and answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, Energy, and Math.
The Middle School Science Bowl Regional Tournament is held at Boise State University around mid- February. If students win the Regional Tournament they will travel to Washington, DC to play in the National Science Bowl Tournament at the end of April.
